Freedom From Tobacco Network

Hi my name is Steve and today I am very grateful to be a nonsmoker. I was a pack and a half to two pack a day smoker for almost 30 years. Didn't think I could ever quit. The very thought of quitting made me so nervous that I smoked more. My brother Jesse found a support group meeting that made quitting seem possible right here in Tacoma at St Joseph Medical Center. It's a free meeting with people just like us who are trying to quit smoking for good and it is working for them. It's called The Freedom From Tobacco Network. Doctor Hogan started this meeting in May of 1993, he has been totally committed to this meeting spending a great deal of time and effort making it possible for anyone and everyone to quit smoking that wants to. He has probably helped save many lives and asks nothing in return. We owe Doctor Hogan our gratitude and appreciation. The meeting is once a week on Thursday Nights at 7PM. It's on the first floor in Dining Room 2 by the Cafeteria I Street entrance. 1717 So J Street Tacoma. Come on down and join us we'll give you a cup of coffee, lots of good information and some hope. There's no pressure to quit right away because we understand, been there done that. In fact Dr. Hogan doesn't want you to quit too fast. He suggests getting prepared first. Reading the free literature and listening to others who have been successful. Dr. Hogan can also explain what happens inside the human brain that keeps people smoking long after they desire to quit, this stuff is fascinating too. Then when you are ready you can set a quit date that you are comfortable with. We suggest using this meeting along with nicotine patches, nicotine gum, Wellbutrin, Zyban or any other approved methods that get the job done. We have seen individuals successfully quit, we have seen couples quit together, that helps of course, but we have also seen couples that have quit one at a time successfully. My first tobacco free day was September 1st 1995. I am so glad I don't have to be a slave to the habit anymore. Freedom from tobacco is by far the greatest gift one can give themselves. Like Jesse used to say "Failure comes in a can't. Success comes in a can" I can't do it alone but "Together We Can". There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
